Peveril Internment Camp (Isle of Man) 1 Pound
The Peveril Camp was another of the British internment camps located on the Isle of Man. The camp was located in the town of Peel and operated from July 1940-May 1945. As with the other IOM camps it held mostly German Jewish refugees. The scrip was produced on thin cardboard in denominations of 1/2 penny, 1 penny, 6 pence, 1 shilling, 1/2 crown, 5 shillings, and 10 shillings. Some of the denominations come in more than one color. They are all scarce especially the 1 Pound. The 5 Shilling exists primarily in museums.
