Australia Camp Seven Bank Internment Camp Hay 1 Penny

Camp 7 1 penny

Camp Hay was located in New South Wales and was composed of camps 6, 7, and 8.  Camp 7 consisted primarily of German Jewish Refugees that were transported from England.  Two types of notes were produced.  This is the first type and were issued in 1940 to be used as small change.  they were later replaced by the Internment Camp tokens with the hole in the center.  Two denominations exist 1d and 3d.  They are considered very rare with only a dozen examples existing,  however recently a small hoard was auctioned off in England.
